Position Summary: The Institute of Community Health Care invites applications for one full-time position at the Professor level. The successful candidate is expected to engage in collaborative, interdisciplinary research. We are seeking faculty members who can support our international graduate program through English instruction and advising at the masters and doctoral levels. The candidate should be a recognized national or international scholar or leader.

Minimum Qualifications: The candidate must possess an earned doctorate in nursing, social work, or other health related fields. Has held the rank of professor at a research-focused institution of higher education. Speak and write fluently in English. Ability to help develop international collaborations. Experience teaching and supervising students at the masters and doctoral level. Record of funding and publication in high-impact journals. First author or corresponding author on an SCIE or SSCI article published in the past three years.

Preferred Qualifications: The following interests and experience are preferred:

  • Focus areas on community factors related to health and health care, community engagement, community health promotion, social determinants of health, health policy, disadvantaged groups, indigenous populations, aging issues, global perspective on health, research methods, statistical analysis, and related topics.
  • Familiarity with interprofessional and interdisciplinary teaching, research and practice.
  • Significant administrative experience in higher education.
  • Experience in academic program design and leadership.
  • Professional experience in Taiwan.
  • Nobel Prize, academician from a national research institute, or qualifications to serve as member of an international professional society, determined on a case by case basis.
  • Teaches or previously taught in university that meets the University’s requirements for foreign academic qualifications approval measures and has a good reputation, determined on a case by case basis.
  • Has held the rank of professor for at least six years.
  • Applicant’s documentation shows they exceed the qualifications of a professor in the Institute, determined on a case by case basis.
  • Outstanding academic and administrative professional contributions.
  • Expertise meets the Institute’s special requirements.
  • Applicant can provide additional academic, research, teaching, international and other resources to the Institute.

  4. Two recommendation letters
  5. A complete publication list and copies of publications. For each publication, indicate if the journal is indexed by SCIE, SSCI, TSSCI or AHCI, its impact factor and ranking. Choose one representative article from the past three years.
  6. Summary of academic leadership experience as appropriate.
  7. Two course syllabi in English.
